Anti-Human Haptoglobin (HPT)
HPT sequesters free hemoglobin and associated iron released from lysed red blood cells. It is also an acute phase reactant plasma protein that responds to general inflammation. HPT is used to differentiate intravascular hemolytic anemia from other types of anemia.
