Product Specification:
The product is made by immunizing the host (goat) with purified Human Haptoglobin; antiserum is defibrinated and delipidated, monospecificity is tested by IEP versus normal plasma and 2x concentrated human serum. Immunoturbidimetric reactivity is determined on Hitachi 911.
The product can be customized to various automated immunoassay platforms. Factors such as detection limit, sensitivity, linearity, and antigen excess (prozone) can be adjusted and controlled.

Haptoglobin is a blood protein made by the liver. Its main role is to save iron by attaching itself to any hemoglobin released from a red cell. In clinical settings, the Haptoglobin test is mainly used to detect and evaluate hemolytic anemia and distinguish it from anemia of other causes.
