RapidChek® CONFIRM Salmonella Enteritidis (SE)
SDIX's RapidChek® CONFIRM™ Salmonella Enteritidis
The FDA Method Equivalent and AOAC approved RapidChek CONFIRM SE kit is an immunomagnetic separation (IMS) kit used to confirm the presence of SE in presumptive positive environmental drag swab samples.
Why do you need to use this kit to confirm presumptive positive environmental samples?
There are mixed populations of Salmonella species (Serogroup B, C1, etc. + D1) typically present in these samples and they create a challenging environment for isolation of Group D1 isolates.
The use of the RapidChek CONFIRM IMS kit reduces the presence of other Salmonella species through washing steps and concentrates the Group D1 species.

The RapidChek CONFIRM SE test kit reduces the presence of other non-SE Salmonella species ultimately increasing the accuracy and repeatability and reducing the labor and time required by cultural confirmation.
This kit is not required for use in confirming presumptive positive egg pool samples since there are not typically mixed Salmonella cultures present in these samples.
